Exertis and Hammer integration creates new opportunities

Exertis has announced a few organisational and business changes that present further opportunities for its enterprise customers at Exertis and Hammer, allowing them to take advantage of a wider vendor portfolio and enhanced professional services.

James Ward has been appointed MD for the combined enterprise businesses of Hammer and Exertis, reporting to Paul Bryan, Exertis UK MD.

With the integration of the Hammer and Exertis enterprise commercial and sales teams, we will provide even greater value to our customers by offering an enhanced vendor portfolio, with an extensive professional services wrap, and significant employee expertise that can address the differing requirements of our customers and their vertical markets. James with his experience, industry pedigree and business acumen is the ideal person to lead our enterprise business both in the UK and across Europe where Hammer already has successful operations in several countries,” said Bryan.

Hammer will also adopt the Exertis name under the brand ‘Exertis Hammer’, further reflecting the integration of the businesses whilst recognising the strong affiliation that has been developed over the past 27 years with its customers and vendors.

The name itself is the main change here,” said Ward. “But at the same time, this is an opportunity to refocus on our customers and core strengths with better utilisation of our complete enterprise skillsets, to deliver a more comprehensive and compelling offering to our customers. This customer focus will see Exertis Hammer focus on vertical markets and Exertis’ enterprise division focus on VARs.”

It’s an exciting time for our enterprise business and with the financial strength and support of our parent company, we aim to capitalise on the solid foundations that we have built in Hammer’s overseas operations, further broadening our value-added distribution capabilities and footprint across Europe”, he added.

The acquisition of Hammer was announced in 2016, and the combined Exertis Enterprise Solutions division now provides a vendor portfolio that comprises of enterprise components, and enterprise solutions ranging from server, storage, networking and HCI to security, wireless, UC, software and cloud. It also provides a full range of professional services which equip resellers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to service and support their own customers.
