Dealer group Nemo Office Club hosted an ‘Education Market’ event to connect members with expert suppliers, opening doors to new opportunities in the education sector
“The education market is an area where our members are increasingly seeing opportunities, particularly with the Keep It Local campaign behind them, and this event was about bringing them together with suppliers that have knowledge, experience and the products for being successful in this sector” explained group MD, Tim Beaumont.
At recent networking events Nemo Office Club has introduced a ‘speed-dating’ format that greatly increases engagement during exhibition time. As Grahame Hill from Robert Hall Business Equipment noted: “The format is perfect. At the Education Event we discovered opportunities with suppliers whose stands we would never have otherwise visited at an exhibition.”
Nemo Office Club currently has over 100 suppliers of products and services with the Education Event being an example of how the group has recognised the changing needs of members and suppliers to maximise these relationships. Mike Carter of Chariot Office Supplies identified this when commenting: “Learning what specific products are purchased by schools that we have available through our supplier network has given me the confidence to push the ranges and capitalise on the opportunities to sell more to our local schools. The team at Nemo Office Club has done a brilliant job ensuring a full circle of support and guidance is available from supplier relationship building, product knowledge training, marketing support and sales generation.”
The format also received a big thumbs up from suppliers with Bob McCarthy from Mitsubishi Pencil Company calling it a “brilliant event with engagement from everyone that we spoke to and definitely a lot of potential to grow the business.” Whilst Adrian Reid at Fellowes added: “It was great to spend time talking with members. They seemed to enjoy the sessions and gain some knowledge and give thought to potential opportunities. Definitely something we will be following-up on.”
The event was organised with the support of CTS Wholesale and Xerox, with the day including a well-organised visit to CTS Wholesale for lunch and a chance to view the impressive warehouse operation. Following the success of the Education event, Nemo Office Club is now planning a similar market specific day for the planned members meeting in November.
