Exertis expands innovation team

Exertis has announced the appointment of Paul Jacobs to its newly-created director of business development and innovation position. He will report to Simon Woodman, business development director, and will be responsible for working on bringing new and emerging technologies to market that will create value-added solutions for resellers.

Woodman said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to Exertis. He has many years of experience in the distribution channel. Leveraging the opportunities that innovative technology creates in providing new products, services and value propositions that our customers can take to market are key to building growth – Paul’s remit is to help monetise those opportunities, working with ISVs, content providers and other partners to bring these to fruition by creating solutions that drive increased productivity for business and additional profitability for our partners.”

Jacobs joined from Tech Data, where he spent 18 years in both sales and product marketing. He added: “This is an exciting opportunity to leverage next generation technologies and help being them commercially to the market. Exertis has a reputation for being entrepreneurial and first to market in key areas, evidenced by their leadership in the smart tech arena and their drive to promote business VR applications. Scaling those and bringing more, new opportunities for resellers is a challenge that I am looking forward to.”
