Non-genuine supplies can pose risks in terms of warranty issues, printer performance and print yield whilst genuine supplies are rigorously tested by manufacturers.
According to the Imaging Supplies Coalition (ISC), an organisation whose members include HP, Canon, Brother, Epson, Lexmark and Xerox, counterfeit printer consumables cost the industry around $3 billion annually worldwide which impacts printer production costs and R&D.
