The BOSS Industry Leaders Meet Future Leaders conference was held at the Tower Guoman Hotel on Thursday 28 November, sponsored by Fellowes and Pentel.
“Think about keeping your learning curve as steep as possible: the steeper it is, the more you will progress.” That was the challenge laid down by BOSS chairman Simon Drakeford to the assembled delegates early on in the conference – and throughout the day they responded by showing that this was exactly what they were focused on.
Hear what our future leaders thought of the day:
“Any type of event that brings dealers together to support each other and share experiences is always good,” said John Phillips, Paperstone.
“A great event: a lot of like-minded people getting together to explore topics that maybe they hadn’t encountered much before. It certainly made me re-evaluate how these issues affect my own role,” said Josh Weale, Lyreco.
“It’s been very interesting to meet other dealers: the industry can feel quite depressed at the moment, so it was great to have a boost by getting new ideas,” said Maddy Bishop, Bishops Office Products.
“I think getting involved with the LOTF Committee would be a perfect way to respond to my call to action, as the first event I attended had a lasting impact on me and I have both times come home feeling invigorated and incredibly inspired. It was around the time of the 2017 LOTF Conference that for the first time in my life I felt like my career might actually be going in the direction my ambition wanted it to go! I’d love to have a hand in making those feelings real for other young people in the industry, and giving them the opportunity to feel part of something bigger with a future,” said Hannah Thompson, OfficeTeam.
