Tangent Office reopens to safely welcome back customers

Orpington based Tangent Office and Workwear was delighted to welcome back customers instore as lockdown was eased across England.

The team had been working hard in the months leading up to the store re-opening to ensure their customers welfare was the highest priority.
The store, specialising in office supplies, computer consumables and workwear, threw open its doors to many of its loyal customer base but also attracted new visitors thanks to a high profile, local advertising campaign.
Stocked up with additional lines such as gloves, masks and hygiene solutions, Tangent is well placed to support customers over the coming weeks and months. Remote working solutions, online ordering and home deliveries will also enable Tangent to capture additional sales and open up new opportunities.
As members of Integra Business Solutions, Tangent has had access to a retail support programme and a supplier base providing social distancing solutions, from floor graphics and signage to barriers and protective screen.
Owner and local resident, Chandra Sharma, commented “We are so pleased that non-essential small businesses like ours have been allowed to open to the public. We have worked very hard to follow all the Government guidelines in order to ensure the safety of our Customers, Staff and Suppliers.
We have been trading from the same shop for almost 15 years and have a lot of regular Customers, a number of whom are elderly and who see us as a community shop, somewhere where they can pop in, buy a cartridge and have a chat.
Our customers, who have all endured such challenging times, have fully embraced the social distancing measures in place and the return to local stores. As a local community pulling together to support each other, I feel confident we can come out of this more connected than ever.”
Chandra is passionate about supporting local businesses and is a volunteer for the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), representing them to the London Borough of Bromley. When the pandemic struck, he, along with 3 colleagues, set up a group called ‘Business Continuity Support’ holding two meetings a week to help local businesses through the crisis. As well as lobbying the local Council for a better deal for small Businesses, Chandra also holds two lunchtime networking events a month (currently via Zoom).
Newly elected local MP for Orpington, Gareth Bacon, and managers from Orpington 1st BID, visited local stores and businesses on the day to lend their support. Gareth Bacon thanked local businesses for their hard work in putting measures in place to ensure customers could shop safely and with confidence, adding “I hope people will return to our high streets and shop locally to help Orpington bounce back as we reopen society.”
