UPDATE: Exertis UK to Make Fewer Than 400 Staff Redundant

As reported by AV Interactive, Exertis UK has confirmed that fewer than 400 of its employees will face involuntary redundancy, out of a total workforce of more than 1,000

All staff were put on notice at the beginning of December as part of a legally required consultation process following the company’s sale by DCC plc to private equity firm Aurelius in November 2025. The notice period followed several challenging years for the UK infotech distributor prior to the acquisition.

In a statement issued earlier this week, Exertis UK said: “The employee consultation process we concluded last Friday has obviously been challenging, but ultimately productive in the circumstances we inherited from our previous owner. During this process, which put all employees at risk, our objective was from the beginning to mitigate hardship: we enabled an early voluntary redundancy programme, on terms above statutory requirements, to provide people more time to seek alternative employment.
We are also in an advanced consultation process with another company which may see a large number of people transfer to a new employer. And we are embarking on a new business staffing model, focusing on becoming a specialist, independent distributor.
The end result of our efforts is that fewer than 400 employees now face involuntary redundancy at Exertis UK, rather than the more than 1,000 we originally feared.”

It is not yet clear whether the UK AV distribution business will be included in any ongoing sale discussions. IT Channel Oxygen has reported that Exertis UK is in talks with VOW Wholesale regarding the potential sale of its Exertis Supplies business.

In other corporate updates, Exertis UK managing director Tim Griffin’s appointment as a director was terminated on 11 December, according to Companies House filings. Griffin is currently believed to be on leave.
