Improved efficiency and productivity, alongside an expanded service offering, are expected to result from Grafisol Lda.’s investment in the Konica Minolta accurioJet KM-1 inkjet B2+ sheetfed UV colour inkjet digital press – the first in Portugal
João Freire, Grafisol’s CEO, commented: “The addition of this new Konica Minolta press will allow us to modernise our print offering, widen our range of differentiating solutions and bring more value to our customers, helping to meet their current and future needs.
“This is one of our biggest investments in innovative technology, and we believe we will optimise our efficiency and productivity, with a focus on the sustainability of our printing. We intend to expand our product offering to our customers, who already distinguish us as the providers of highest quality services.”
The Konica Minolta accurioJet KM-1, which has been recognized by the European Digital Press Association (EDP) as best in class in its category, is the first printer worldwide to use Konica Minolta’s patented DotFreeze technology, which freezes ink droplets when in contact with the substrate. The result is perfect colour registration and excellent image stability on a wide range of substrates, including standard offset materials, without the need for pre-treatment or the application of a primer in the printing process.
Among the benefits of the accurioJet KM-1 is that printed jobs can go straight to finishing without the need to wait while the output dries. It can handle material thicknesses up to 0.6mm in simplex mode and 0.45mm in duplex printing, printing at speeds of up to 3,000 sheets per hour (simplex), 1,500 sheets per hour (duplex). Print resolution is 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, and media sizes are up to 585 x 750 mm B2+.
Vasco Falcão, MD of Konica Minolta Portugal and Spain, said: “This is a new milestone in our operation, representing our expansion in Portugal into markets such as industrial and commercial printing, which have enormous potential. Grafisol is a long-standing client and we are very excited to support it in the development of new approaches to the market through equipment that sustains high quality and profitability.”
Konica Minolta has just recently announced the sales of accurioJet KM-1 in the Netherlands and Italy, and continues to expand into new regions with this cutting-edge printing technology.
