Brother UK has expanded its reach into the retail, warehousing, and logistic markets after signing a new partnership with sector specialist reseller Renovotec
Renovotec supplies auto-ID and automated technologies to warehousing and distribution centres across the UK. The company, which generated £50m in sales during 2021, will now provide Brother’s TJ range of high-volume industrial label printers, the RJ series of mobile devices, and the TD line of desktop models to customers under the new agreement.
The partnership comes as IT vendors and partners are servicing rising demand from retail and logistics businesses, with an extra 50.7m sq ft of warehousing space taken up by the end of 2021, requiring new technology infrastructure.
The Warehouse Trends survey from auto-identification authority VDC Research Group, recently found that improving labour optimisation, returns management and cost of errors are key targets for warehouse operators – with efficient auto-ID and labelling technology being able to support their goals.
Brother UK and Renovotec co-exhibited their solutions for warehouse settings at the Retail Technology Show in London this week (26th and 27th of April).
Head of Auto ID at Brother UK, Ged Cairns, said: “This partnership represents a strategic move on the part of both ourselves and Renovotec. We’ve made significant investments in our range of specialist labelling devices in the last few years to help retail and warehouse settings work more efficiently and productively.
“Renovotec’s unrivalled presence and expertise in this market allows us to effectively reach major operators with our new and established solutions – at a time when the rise in ecommerce is making labelling technology increasingly essential to smoothly manage order fulfilment.”
Richard Gillard, CEO at Renovotec added: “This partnership with one of the UK’s leading print providers strengthens our offering to existing clients. Brother’s products as well as its principles significantly align with our own ethos, boosting the service we can provide to our customers.
“Brother’s commitment to sustainability is also increasingly valuable to see, with our customers scrutinising the environmental impact of companies in their supply chains. Its “At your side” motto also gives us and our customers peace of mind – knowing that through every purchase Brother’s dedicated end-user teams will be on hand offering end-to-end support across our markets.”
The TJ series is suited to retail and industrial environments with high-volume labelling requirements from shipping labels to Hazchem warning signs. The devices offer print speeds of up to 14 inches per second (ips), with up to 600 metre ribbon capacity.
The RJ range of mobile label printers support tasks from shelf labelling, price markdowns, click and collect through to quotes, estimates, and invoices. Brother’s latest RJ-3200 range has the latest connectivity, charging and integration features required to meet end user needs.
Professional wireless desktop label printers under the TD range print at up to six ips. They are suited to applications such as packing benches in warehouses, or for use in commercial kitchens to help food retailers manage stock rotation and to meet new allergen label regulations under Natasha’s Law.
