Exertis has announced a corporate trade-in programme that resellers can take advantage of for their customers’ smartphones, tablets and laptops
Trade-in programmes have become increasingly popular driven by the higher, initial cost of top of the range devices, the residual value that premium products retain, the desire for consumers and business to be using the latest technology, and the recognition that sustainability is an important issue for businesses.
Rik Hubbard, Exertis commercial and services director for mobile, said: “Today’s smartphones, tablets and laptops hold their value and that residual value can be put to good use by either reducing the cost of a new device, upselling to a higher spec device or cross selling to other categories such as peripherals or accessories. In addition, whilst that device might not be suitable for one company, it may still be able to be deployed elsewhere with some refurbishment, preventing harmful materials entering landfill and contributing to the circular economy. Sustainability is an important consideration for companies, as expectations from people on corporate responsibility increases.”
Exertis has made the trade-in journey as simple and secure as possible, utilising the skills, expertise and resource of its MTR subsidiary, a company that is dedicated to providing 2nd lifecycle solutions. The first step for the resellers or their customers is to request a quote for the devices they would like to exchange. Exertis will provide a quotation subject to final inspection. If the quote is acceptable, the devices are sent to MTR’s refurbishing facility. These devices are then inspected, graded and a final value confirmation is provided. If that value is accepted, a payment can be made direct to the corporate end user, to the reseller or into a customer technology fund for future purposes. If the value isn’t accepted, the devices will be returned to the customer.
For those devices that are accepted, their journey continues and this is a key consideration for why resellers and, their corporate customers, should choose Exertis. MTR has an industry leading secure processing facility, accredited by ISO for quality management (ISO 9001: 2015), environmental management (ISO 14001:2015) and registered with the ICO for data protection and the Environmental Agency as a registered waste carrier for safe disposal of hazardous waste. The facility has been designed to offer the highest level of product security with state-of-the-art CCTV surveillance and monitoring systems. Most importantly, it provides a secure process for protecting customer data, partnering with Blackbelt to ensure multiple levels of data wipe, up to military standards. Data wipe certifications are issued to customers. Devices are then resold either as graded or refurbished product or destroyed with full certification provided to the customer.
