Hamelin Brands has been awarded the ultimate BOSS Health and Safety accolade – the Seal of Excellence.
The accolade was presented to MD Philip Beer, Peter Lambert, warehouse and distribution manager, Mandy Robson, head of health and safety and Marcus Clifford, regional director.
This prestigious award is presented to companies that achieve a score of over 70% in all BOSS Healthcheck categories. The Healthchecks aim to identify areas for improvement in legislative and industry best practice.
Seal of Excellence audits are carried out every two years and the company’s score must be maintained or improved during this period. Over 700 Healthchecks have been carried out by BOSS and BPIF regional advisers since their launch in 2002.
The BOSS Seal of Excellence was initiated at the request of members who are very proud of their improvements and investments and would like to show their customers, visitors and staff what they have achieved through a certificate that they can display.
Beer was understandably delighted by the award:
“Ensuring the health and safety – both physical and mental – of our employees at Hamelin is our first responsibility and as such we take it very seriously. I am delighted that BOSS have awarded us their Seal of Excellence to go along with the OHSAS 18001 accreditation that we achieved in 2016. This gives everyone at Hamelin some additional confidence that all the effort everyone gives to health and safety is seen as ‘best in class’, although we will not be getting complacent!”
Lambert added:
“For me, this award recognises the standard the business sets itself in daily health and safety aspects, and particularly the ambition, attention to detail, personal commitment and team playing of all our employees, particularly those at the ‘coal face’ of the management system that underpins it all. My congratulations go to them all.”
