The 2024 Antalis Student Packaging Design Competition celebrated Erin Lemon’s luxury fragrance packaging, inspired by her great-grandfather’s herdsman heritage
Antalis has unveiled the winner of its 2024 Student Packaging Design Competition, which challenges university students to push the boundaries of creativity and commercial awareness. The competition offers students the opportunity to tackle a real-world design brief.
This year, the focus was on creating luxury packaging for the fragrance sector using Antalis’ premium paper and paperboard materials. The submissions showcased an impressive blend of innovation and practical application, highlighting the importance of substrate selection in design.
Steve Chappell, graphical board development manager at Antalis, praised the calibre of entries: “Once again, we’ve been delighted and impressed by the entries received. They show a great understanding of the important role substrate choice plays in packaging design.”
A panel of four industry professionals evaluated the entries based on criteria such as design innovation, commercial viability, brand strength and overall presentation. From a shortlist of seven exceptional projects, ‘Wash Brook’ by Erin Lemon emerged as the winner. Erin’s design drew inspiration from her great-grandfather’s role as the head herdsman for the largest milking Jersey cow herd in the British Isles.
