NEWS: Essity showcases sustainable hygiene solutions

Essity impressed visitors at Interclean with its innovative and eco-friendly Tork product range, drawing large crowds and positive feedback

These included Tork carbon-neutral certified dispenserswhich were nominated for the Amsterdam Innovation Award.

The dispensers are produced using certified renewable electricity while the remaining carbon emissions are offset via verified climate projects through ClimatePartner. The range is a step towards Essity’s commitment to net zero emissions, which has been verified by the Science Based Targets initiative.

The Tork stand hosted large numbers of visitors and customers, says regional segment marketing manager Ineke van den Bemt. “Our booth was very busy every day from 10am until the show closed,” she said. “The show went really well for us.”

Making their debut at Interclean were the new Tork Xpress® Compressed Soft Multifold Hand Towels which have been compressed by up to 50 per cent. This halves the number of refills required which minimises any disruption to businesses.

Also new was the Tork Soap and Sanitiser Dispenser with Arm Lever for touchless dispensing, and the Tork 2 in 1 Scouring and Cleaning Cloth. This is an absorbent, abrasive and versatile wiper designed to save time and effort when cleaning.

The new Tork Natural Colour range of washroom tissue products also featured on the stand. Made from 100 per cent recycled fibres, the toilet paper and hand towels in the range have a natural, light brown hue to demonstrate the customer’s sustainability values to employees, guests and visitors.

Besides being highly sustainable, the products are also significantly softer to the touch than traditional recycled washroom tissue. All Tork Natural Colour washroom products are compatible with Tork PaperCircle® – the world’s first recycling service for paper towels.

Customers signing up for Tork PaperCircle® have their used washroom hand towels picked up from their business premises and taken to local recycling centres where they are turned into other tissue products. Around 25 million hand towels in 14 countries are recycled every month under the scheme.

Tork experts held thought leadership sessions at Interclean on relevant topics such as how data can enhance cleaning quality and efficiency; the implications of the new EU Green Deal on businesses’ sustainability goals, and digital solutions for sustainable care.

“It was good to see so many new and existing customers at the event, and they all seemed to enjoy the freshly-baked caramel waffles we served on our stand,” said Ineke.
