Have you ever used the widely available brown paper towels or toilet paper? In the past, they’ve not been very popular with employees and other users because they’re not very absorbent, are rough on skin, and can leave the impression of being low quality. That is changing – innovation leader Tork shows that sustainability and quality are not mutually exclusive anymore
For the new Tork Natural colour product family, professional hygiene experts turned rough into soft and gave high quality a new colour – with soft and efficient hand towels and toilet paper made of 100% recycled fibres. The Tork Natural colour washroom range is another step towards a circular economy – whilst also responding to changes in the paper market.
With more people working from home and businesses shifting to more paper-free behaviours, there is less supply of recycled paper”, says Tomas Gandemo, Global Brand Innovation Manager at Tork. “We had to find alternative fibre sources to secure access to recycled fibres.” With e-commerce booming, the supply of used cardboard boxes has risen across the globe. As a result, Tork has shifted to using these recycled boxes as one of its fibre sources.
High quality hand towels and toilet paper products in a light brown colour are an easy way to show employees and visitors that sustainability is a priority – and facility management is taking an active part in the transition to a more sustainable and circular society. User research shows, that 85% of office workers are willing to use toilet paper in a natural colour at the office – as long as the quality is the same to what they are used to
The new tissue by Tork is made of 100% recycled fibres. 30-50% comes from used corrugated cartons such as shipping boxes, the remainder stems from other recycled fibre sources such as sorted office paper.
