Three months on from the initial impact of the Covid19 pandemic hit, businesses are now moving out of the shock wave that that necessitated rapid pivoting of ranges, processes and systems and into a recovery phase, planning for the future.
VOW MD, Adrian Butler says, “We have been considering whether what we have done in the past will still be the best way to operate in the future. Many things will change, but one thing that won’t is our belief that good people and relationships are fundamental to business success. We have seen throughout this crisis, the incredible drive, passion and professionalism of our dealer customers. They have found many ways to adapt their businesses to survive and thrive, and we want to ensure that we do whatever we can to support their initiatives.”
That, says Butler, is why VOW has established a new Dealer Development Team, under the leadership of Darren Renshaw.
For Renshaw, it’s a return to his Sheffield roots having studied at Sheffield Hallam University before a 4-year stint as a Regional Sales Manager for the company in its earlier Kingfield Heath incarnation. After four and a half years with Antalis McNaughton and almost nine years with Spicers, where he rose from Account Director to Head of Sales, Regional Sales Director and ultimately Sales Director, he’s back.
“I am delighted to be taking on this new challenge with VOW. I have always worked collaboratively with dealers and enjoyed excellent relationships with them. VOW’s commitment to the channel is clear to see, and it’s really exciting to be able to work with them to support a group of proactive and ambitious dealers and build something special.”
Adding considerable expertise and experience of the dealer community are three further industry veterans who have joined the new team, and who will report to Darren Renshaw as Account Directors.
David Hamilton spent 31 years supporting dealers for Spicers in the South of England, along with Annie Conlan, who enjoyed 5 years as Business Development Manager of dealer group, Integra, before joining Spicers a year ago.
Richard Smithers, completes the team. He worked as a dealer for 19 years before spending 7 years at Spicers in a number of account management roles before becoming Head of Sales for the North. He is also the current Chairman of the BOSS Federation’s Northern Regional Committee.
Adrian Butler concludes, “Darren, David, Annie and Richard are well known and respected within the industry. They come to us with over 80 years of combined experience of working closely with dealers to help them grow their businesses. Their appointments represent a significant further investment in our support of our dealer customers, and we are delighted to welcome them to VOW.”
The team will report into Nikki Todd who is delighted to welcome them to the VOW family.
