One of Commercial’s rising stars, Ryan Mann, is being promoted to the role of 2nd line team leader in the managed IT division
This is Mann’s second senior role in under two years, as he rose from 1st line engineer to 1st line team leader.
Mann was the first apprentice to join managed IT when the Network Operations Centre [NOC] scheme was launched in 2015. He moved swiftly from apprentice to 1st line engineer, to 1st line team leader, and now 2nd line team leader.
“This is a great opportunity for Ryan, and his progression demonstrates the success of the NOC Apprenticeship Scheme and the progression on offer in the business,” said Tom Yoxall, network operations centre manager, and Mann’s line manager.
He continued: “Ryan’s new role is more technical and more complex, and he is now responsible for a team of five including three field engineers. Ryan has great attention to detail as well as the ability and drive to go the extra mile, and this promotion shows that Commercial provides the opportunities for people to go as far as they want to.”
Mann added: “I am really looking forward to starting my new role and the challenge of looking at more technical and complex issues. The apprentice scheme has been a massive success with every apprentice so far going on to join our 1st line team. Our 2nd apprentice Timothy Cake has just been promoted to a field engineer which shows yet another route of progression.
“I am delighted to be moving up the ladder in the managed IT division and would like to thank the company for the faith they have shown in me over the years. Hopefully I can continue to progress my career at Commercial and continue to take on new challenges.”
“By recruiting and training apprentices, we can develop people in a way that invests in the future of our people and business as a whole,” concluded Simone Hindmarch, MD and co-founder.
“Other successes include Lauren Edmunds, who joined us in 2014 as a sales support apprentice and is now a project manager in the managed IT division, and Matthew Batchelor who joined in 2016 from Foundation, and is now a purchasing assistant.”
