Brother UK bolsters labelling range with Europe-wide TEKLYNX partnership

Business technology solutions provider Brother UK has strengthened its labelling range by striking a new partnership with leading barcode software vendor TEKLYNX to help resellers serve growing demand in the category

TEKLYNX designs software that provides an interface for users to create custom labels and set them as default rather than reconfiguring the settings whenever they need to print, which saves valuable time.

The new agreement means the software is now fully-native with Brother’s entire suite of thermal labelling solutions, rather than simply being compatible and unable to offer the full suite of benefits.

The partnership covers the rugged, mobile RJ range through to the industrial-grade TJ models, which meet the high-speed and volume requirements of firms that operate within retail and manufacturing supply chains and make up most of the demand for specialist solutions.

The businesses say the move will support resellers in capitalising on market growth. According to analyst VDC, the automatic identification (Auto-ID) category is forecast to grow by 9% in 2021 due to the increasing need for the specialist labelling solutions.

Ged Cairns, head of category – Auto-ID at Brother UK, said: “Versatile devices that meet a wide range of customer requirements are key to providing resellers with the best means of tapping into the growing demand in the labelling category. Our new partnership with TEKLYNX means their software is optimised for use on Brother’s devices, ensuring more reliable, secure and efficient barcode labelling design and print for users.

“This agreement is the latest in a string of new initiatives designed to strengthen our labelling range. These aim to enhance model performance, provide new procurement options through hardware-as-a-service platforms, and boost our footprint in the market via new channel partnerships.”

Thierry Mauger, international president at TEKLYNX, said: “We are proud to work with Brother and offer the opportunity to significantly increase productivity in label printing.”

The collaboration with TEKLYNX follows new agreements with barcode software providers NiceLabel and BarTender, as well as Datalogic, a vendor of barcode scanning devices. Brother UK’s run of complementary partnerships are part of its wider specialist print services (SPS) growth plan, created in response to rising demand for Auto-ID solutions.

The vendor recently launched Managed Label Services (MLS), a hardware-as-a-service platform designed to help firms procure specialist tech cost-effectively. MLS subscriptions allow firms to access new Brother label printers, third party hardware, software, services and supplies with the option to spread the upfront cost over an affordable monthly payment plan.
