Inside the Zanders factory tour

As part of the Speciality Papers Europe conference held in Cologne from 23 to 25 April, over 50 conference attendees took the change for a second time to visit the production of Zanders in Bergisch Gladbach. As the conference has taken place in Cologne, like last year, the factory tour was carried out again due to great demand.

During the tour, the cast-coating machines with the chrome cylinders, on which the high-gloss Chromolux is made, were presented. Since 1958, the premium paper and board has been produced in the Gohrsmühle mill, so the Chromolux brand is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. In addition, the current challenges for the paper industry were discussed as part of the tour and how the host company faces them. Zanders presented a new product as well as a portfolio expansion within the past few months to the visitors: Zanjet, a two-side coated paper for commercial high-speed inkjet printing, was launched at the beginning of the year. In addition, the SBS range Zanpack has been extended by heavy weights from 450 to 560 gsm.
