As reported by Digital Printer Mag, Encore Group, a leading UK-based printing and packaging company, has expanded its operations with the acquisition of Blackburn-based envelope manufacturer Heritage Envelopes
Previously owned by German firm Mayer-Kuvert-network, Heritage will now operate as a subsidiary of Encore Group.
The acquisition is expected to protect existing jobs and generate over 20 new roles at Encore’s sites in Washington and Dewsbury, further strengthening the group’s presence in the UK envelope manufacturing sector.
David Cooper, Managing Director of Encore Group, described the move as a strategic step in enhancing the company’s production capabilities. “Bringing Heritage into the group allows us to improve operational efficiencies and sustain service levels for customers,” he said.
This deal marks another significant milestone in Encore’s growth strategy. In 2023, the company invested in a new logistics facility in Peterlee, County Durham, to meet increasing customer demand. With over 300 employees and more than four decades of industry experience, Encore continues to expand its footprint across the UK.
The Heritage acquisition also follows Encore’s previous purchase of Great Northern Envelopes, which preserved nearly 130 jobs and strengthened its operations in Yorkshire.
