Brother UK has launched its first range of industrial label printers as the company aims to support Auto-ID and general resellers, with sales in the category set to rise by nine per cent in 2021*
The TJ series, which includes eight new thermal printer models, is designed to provide users operating across manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and transport with print speeds of up to 14 inches-per-second to meet growing work volumes, precipitated by the sharp increase in online shopping.
The devices can operate in both direct thermal and thermal transfer mode, which enables businesses to create a complete range of labelling solutions, from shipping labels to Hazchem warning signs. By using the correct ribbon and label combination, users can print labels that will withstand extremes in moisture, durability and chemical resistance.
The firm says the new models enhance its industrial label printing range, which includes desktop devices, such as the TD-4420TN and TD-4520TN, and mobile printers, such as the RJ-4230B and RJ-4250WB.
Each of the new products are built with a metal chassis and body to ensure durability and longevity. The devices come with USB Host, USB, Ethernet LAN and Serial as standard and can provide WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options that can be installed by users. They are also designed to support various printer command languages, including ZPL2, to simplify integration with existing systems.
Aaron Hopkinson, product and solutions manager for SPS and labelling at Brother UK, said: “Boosting employee productivity and picking efficiency are the top priorities across warehousing and logistics as pressure increases on operators to ramp-up fulfilment speeds and improve returns processing.
“The TJ models will not only enable Auto-ID and IT resellers to help their customers tackle this challenge but seize an opportunity to build new revenue as demand in the market increases.
“The devices introduce a number of new features and benefits, from market-leading print speeds to connectivity options, which makes our thermal print range a more competitive and relevant proposition for partners, particularly for customers operating in high volume and heavy-duty environments.”
Other features include a range of user-friendly LED and LCD touch panel displays, designed to make configuration and set-up easier.
The new range of TJ devices expands Brother’s portfolio of thermal print solutions, which now includes 39 models, and comes with a three-year warranty as standard and the option to purchase extended four or five-year terms.
Each device comes with an operating expense purchasing option for reseller partners to use, which will enable their customers to buy new products without the need for a large, upfront payment.
