Tomorrow is the long-awaited Ride of Life, and four members of the DURABLE team are set to tackle the task to raise money for the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
Sean Starkey (managing director), Russell Shivas (finance and operations), Sam Rylands (marketing) and Nick Sanders (account manager) will tackle the gruelling 65-mile route which starts from the ICR campus in Sutton, Surrey.
The route includes the iconic climbs of Leith Hill and Box Hill, which was one of the settings for the 2012 Olympic Road Race.
The Ride of Life has been created as a sister event to the Climb of Life, which has been running for over 30 years and has raised nearly one million pounds. Starkey, who is one of the Ride of Life organisers, said:
“The Ride of Life committee and I are delighted to be supporting the ICR with this new initiative, as well as the sterling and continued work done by Graeme and his Climb of Life team.”
Rylands added: “This will be a challenging 100km ride for all 29 riders taking part. Training is well under way though and we’re trying to get as many donations as possible to support such an important cause.”
