Midwich launches CSR commitment with new programme

Midwich is pleased to announce the launch of its CSR programme. On Friday 16 August, Mark Lowe, MD of Midwich (UK & Ireland), launched the initiatives to Midwich’s 250+ staff members based at the head office in Diss, Norfolk.

Midwich‘s internal CSR team, consisting of eight staff members from across the business, alongside ongoing feedback from other employees, created the new CSR programme which covers four key areas and initiatives: people, environment, community and charity.

To ensure Midwich and its employees remain committed, they have created pledges within each area:

  • People

    1. Throughout 2019-20, Midwich is giving their employees the opportunity to volunteer their time during working hours to take part in worthwhile community initiatives.

  • Environment

    1. By December 2019, Midwich will be eradicating the use of non-recyclable cups at their head office in Diss, which is home to over 250+ employees.

    2. In 2019-20, we committed to ensure our marketing material is 100% recyclable. At the same time, reduce the number of printed literature distributed to stakeholders.

  • Community

    1. Throughout 2019/20, Midwich will be supporting local worthwhile community projects, as voted for by employees.

  • Charity

    1. Throughout 2019-20, Midwich’s employees and their in-house charity committee are committed to raising between £40,000 to £50,000 for their chosen charity, Mind.

Lowe commented:

We take great pride in listening to what’s important to our people and wider stakeholders. With this in mind, we’re delighted to launch our CSR programme and show how committed Midwich is to the community we operate in, to reduce the negative impact we have on the environment and by supporting local worthwhile charitable initiatives that are important to our staff.

We have a responsibility to ensure we look after the world we live in, we still have a very long way to go but this is a positive start and we are committed to ensuring a long-term sustainable approach.”

Alan Franks, chair of Diss Town Team and Diss Cyclathon organiser, added:

For the past three years Midwich has been the main sponsor of Diss Cyclathon and their support has helped us to contribute over £30,000 to good causes locally. We are delighted that they are now expanding their support of the local community through their CSR initiatives.

Their aims are very much in line with those of the Town Team and we look forward to working with them in the future and to assist them in achieving their aims.”
