Stamp manufacturer, COLOP, has won The Cross Boarder Award 2018. The prize is awarded annually for exemplary cross-border cooperation between companies and R&D institutions in the three-country-region by the South Bohemian Chamber of Commerce, the IHK Lower Bavaria and the WKO Upper Austria.
With an export rate of around 98% and more than 120 regularly supplied export markets COLOP is one of the global players in the industry. The company produces a large part of its stamp products at its headquarters in Austria, and at its second production site in the Czech Republic.
In recent years, the Cross Boarder Award has been awarded to other well-known companies such as Fronius International GmbH, Silhouette International Schmied AG, Greiner Holding AG, Engel Austria GmbH und Teufelberger Holding AG. Now, COLOP gets the prize for the successful operation of its subsidiary and second production site, COLOP CZ, in Borovany which employs 160 people.
In 2012, the production site was considerably expanded, and turned into a modern company. Two years later the opening of additional production and storage areas of around 1,800 m² followed; this almost doubled of the space of the COLOP subsidiary.
In 1993, COLOP started with just a few machines in a simple building, focusing on the production of products whose automation was difficult due to complex manufacturing and low volumes – strategy that COLOP has remained faithful to this day. COLOP CZ primarily manufactures ink pads, number and band stamps, flash stamps and laser rubbers.
